Inspiration

I was frustrated with my own wardrobe which was full of clothes that require layering. In the summer this can get very hot and not practical and it was pointless wearing fitted lycra tops to cover  up our arms but yet showing off the shape of our arms! I think Muslim women who don't wear the abaya face these challenges everyday and shopping can become quite stressful and time consuming when you could buy chic, feminine clothes at a touch of a button.Whatever was in the market was very low end and not suitable for work  and emphasis was on over decorative abayas that most of the time are sitting in our wardrobes.

My lifestyle being a modern, professional businesswoman and a mother inspired me to design a collection that  consists of ready to wear modest clothes for modern professional women. I am inspired by my passion for art, textiles and architecture and how to translate this into my work through the innovative use of colour, cut, texture and print. Most importantly I am inspired by Allah’s creation of this world and the beauty of it all whether that’s nature, animals, humans and life’s challenges and mysteries.
